Our Story

It started with a simple frustration. Our lead developer's wife was spending way too much time copying grocery items out of texts from family and roommates, manually adding them to her grocery list. Text threads were cluttered with "milk" and "don't forget bread", instead of messages that actually mattered.

So he built her something better. A way for everyone to text their grocery needs to one place, automatically organized and ready for her next shopping trip.

She loved it. No more copying and pasting. No more cluttered conversations. Just a simple list and more time to focus on each other. That's Listy.

How It Works

Family members text grocery items to Listy. Listy knows who they are and which list to add items to. No app for them to download, no passwords to remember - they just text like they already do.

Items appear on your list instantly. When you're at the store, everything is in one place - no more scrolling through text threads trying to remember what your partner asked for three days ago.

It's simple, it's fast, and it actually works with how families communicate.

Why SMS?

We tried other grocery list apps. They all had the same problem: getting everyone else to actually use them. Apps require downloads, accounts, learning new interfaces. For something as simple as "we need milk," that's way too much friction.

Texting is universal. Everyone knows how to do it. By building Listy around SMS, we removed the friction entirely. You get a powerful grocery list. Everyone else just texts.
